Detox During Lent

I like to use Lent as an excuse to detox at least once a year. 
The beginning of Spring is the perfect time for me to change some of the comfortable and unhealthy habits adapted over the winter months.
It’s also a time to recall the importance of food in our lives. Where food comes from, how it’s digested, and its effects on the body. To eat with awareness. Actually, I like to use the entire lent period to consciously remember what I'm doing on this planet.

This year I am using the Fit for Life guidelines, which include the Fit for Life food ladder

A.M.
Fresh Fruit and Fruit Juices
Fresh Vegetables Juice and Salads
Steamed Vegetables, Raw Nuts & Seeds
Grains, Breads, Potatoes, Legumes
Meat, Chicken, Fish, Dairy
