The Book of Inanna

Words written by the woman who weaved the story from the ancients -

‘I was drawn to the story of the woman who gave away, at seven successive gates, all she had accomplished in life until she was stripped naked, with nothing remaining but her will to be reborn.’ p.xvi

‘the word for ear and wisdom in Sumerian are the same.’ p.xii

‘as Kramer spoke, a shiver ran through me. When taken literally, the text itself announces the story’s direction: From the Great Above the goddess opened (set) her ear, her receptor for wisdom, to the Great Below.’ p.xvii

‘During the first year, I dreamed of being in a enormous meadow and having the task of cleaning the meadow – blade by blade.’ p.xviii

I just re-read this today -

The Gospel According To Thomas~~

(21) Mary said to Jesus, "Whom are your disciples like?"

He said, "They are like children who have settled in a field which is not theirs. When the owners of the field come, they will say, 'Let us have back our field.' They (will) undress in their presence in order to let them have back their field and to give it back to them."

(37) His disciples said, "When will you become revealed to us and when shall we see you?"

Jesus said, "When you disrobe without being ashamed and take up your garments and place them under your feet like little children and tread on them, then [will you see] the son of the living one, and you will not be afraid."

The stripping. The removal of the earthly 'robes'. Dear Sparrow. Inanna stripped down to enter the underworld. Nothing counts there. It is all to be given over.

What lays in store for us? Pray to God our souls to keep and keep the light and darkness shining and seeping into us.
Amen

i really like the Gospel of Thomas also. . .i think the stripping of earthly robes has to do with peeling back all the identities which we dress ourselves within. .all the mental and social programmings. . .

Yes - I think of them as the structures of our minds. And they need to blow up/crumble/wear down if we are to enter into 'it'.
Its strange, but since you've been back, I don't 'feel' you. I read you, but my antenna don't seem to pick you up. :) Like you are 'just running water' and not a pool. If that makes sense.
Hugs for today. oh! Jett will go to school from Monday. We will meet the principle today to talk about it. He's ready. I wasn't sure if I thought it was a good idea, but yesterday he came with me in the yoga class - and another little person came out - he charmed everyone, so easily, naturally. I lost all fear for him. :)
